Silvia Longauerová nasce a Bratislava, Slovacchia. Inizia a suonare il violoncello all’età di 6 anni. Si diploma al Conservatorio di Bratislava (prof. Juraj Fazekas) con il massimo dei voti, dove continua gli studi presso l’Università di Musica nella classe concertistica di Jan Slavik, membro del Moyzes Quartet. In seguito si perfeziona per 5 anni con Robert Cohen al Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana grazie ad una borsa di studio della fondazione Lyra Stiftung di Zurigo. Partecipa ai concerti dell’International Orchestra Institute di Attergau in Austria, istituzione che si avvale della collaborazione dei membri dell’Orchestra Filarmonica di Vienna, lavora sotto la guida di direttori come Christoph von Dohnanyi, Valery Gergiev, Peter Schneider e Mariss Jansons. Segue diverse masterclass con Raphael Wallfish, Morten Zeuthen, Norbert Brainin, Daniel Blumenthal, Elisabeth Zeuthen Schneider. Per diversi anni Silvia è invitata in formazione cameristica a suonare al Thy Chambermusic Festival (Danimarca) e Vierler vier Jahreszeiten (Germania). Durante la sua attività professionale nella Repubblica Slovacca collabora con la Bratislava Chamber Orchestra e la Capella Istropolitana. Dal 2008 è primo violoncello nell’Orchestra da Camera di Lugano, insegna per il Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana sino a giugno 2022, da settembre dello stesso anno è attiva per la Scuola di musica della Città di Locarno (SPML), dove segue i suoi allievi con l’obiettivo di trasmettere piacere e passione per la musica e lo strumento. Nel 2014 fonda il MusicArte Festival Ascona inseguendo il sogno di creare nuovi spazi per la musica, l’arte e la cultura, perseguendo l’obiettivo di un pubblico misto, fatto non solo di intenditori, ma anche di giovani, famiglie e semplici curiosi.

Silvia Longauerová was born in Bratislava in 1978. She began playing cello at the age of 6. She graduated at the Conservatory in Bratislava (Prof. Juraj Fazekas) with the highest marks, where she later continued her studies at the University of Music in the concert class of Jan Slavik, a member of the Moyzes Quartet. Later on, she went to a 5-year professional training with Robert Cohen at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland thanks to a scholarship from the Lyra Stiftung Foundation from Zurich. She participated in concerts of the International Orchestra Institute of Attergau in Austria, an institution that relies on the collaboration of members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, working under the supervision of directors such as Christoph von Dohnanyi, Valery Gergiev, Mariss Jansons and Peter Schneider. She attended several master classes with Raphael Wallfish, Morten Zeuthen, Norbert Brainin, Daniel Blumenthal and Elisabeth Zeuthen Schneider. For several years Silvia was invited to play at Thy Chambermusic Festival (Denmark) and Vierler vier Jahreszeiten (Germany). During her professional activities in the Slovak Republic she collaborated with the Bratislava Chamber Orchestra and the Capella Istropolitana. Since 2008 she has been principal cellist in the Lugano Chamber Orchestra, she teaches for the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland until June 2022, and since September she has been active for the Music School of the City of Locarno (SPML), where she follows her students with the aim of transmitting pleasure and passion for music and the instrument. In 2014 she started the MusicArte Festival Ascona chasing the dream of creating new spaces for music, art and culture.
